Bring the Bikes to Brixton
Did you know that only 65 of the 414 London Cycle Hire Scheme docking stations are in South London? That's fewer than 1 in 6!
In Lambeth we already have bikes in Vauxhall and Kennington and, thanks to strong campaigning by local Labour Councillors and activists, will soon have bikes in Stockwell. Brixton Labour Councillors and activists are now pressing for even more bikes south of the river and would like your help.
A number of Brixton residents have already told us that they want the same opportunity to use the cycle scheme as they would if they lived north of the river. Local people have also told us that extending the scheme further south would help reduce pressure on the already very busy Northern Line and increasingly unreliable Victoria Line.
We’re therefore calling on the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to listen to local people and extend the Barclay’s Cycle Hire Scheme to Brixton as soon as possible.
It would be great if you could add your voice to our campaign by signing the petition below.
